Doctors Hospital Announces 2026 Scholarship Awardees Supporting the Next Generation of Healthcare Professionals
Annual scholarship programme continues to support Caymanian students pursuing healthcare and allied health careers.
Doctors Hospital (DH) is proud to continue its annual scholarship programme supporting Caymanian students as they pursue their education and prepare for careers in healthcare. This year, DH congratulates its 2026 Scholarship Awardees, Gianna McLaughlin and Keya Berry, both of whom are continuing their studies at accredited institutions in the United States.
Supporting Future Healthcare Professionals
Keya Berry is enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy programme at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her goal is to practise in the specialised pharmacy service of compounding, and her vision for the future blends science, patient care and long-term community impact.
Keya commented:
“This scholarship means a great deal to me, and having my name connected with Doctors Hospital is truly an honour. I’m incredibly grateful for the support as I continue my journey through pharmacy school. The financial assistance will help cover the remainder of my tuition, which is a tremendous help and allows me to focus on my education and professional growth. I’m very thankful for Doctors Hospital’s investment in my education and for this opportunity to continue working toward my goal of becoming a pharmacist and making a meaningful impact through my future practice.”
Gianna McLaughlin is entering her fourth and final year of nursing school at the University of Tampa. She has completed clinical rotations in Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Medical-Surgical Nursing and will complete her final rotations in Mental Health and Community Health.
Passionate about patient care, she is dedicated to becoming a Registered Nurse and looks forward to one day giving back to her community. As a third-year scholarship recipient, Gianna spent June and July 2026, in addition to a similar stint in summer 2025, completing her third summer internship at Doctors Hospital, gaining experience in the Medical-Surgical, OPD and Maternity Units.
Gianna commented:
“This scholarship has played an important role in helping me pursue my nursing education and gain valuable hands-on experience at Doctors Hospital. I am incredibly grateful for the continued support and look forward to completing my final year of nursing school and beginning my career as a Registered Nurse.”
