Her appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in a leader who not only understands the institution but has helped to shape it.
Prior to her appointment as CEO in March 2026, Dr. McCrae, a Clinical Pharmacist by training, served as Director of Strategic Services, where she has played a central role in guiding the hospital’s strategic direction, operational performance, and long-term growth. She also led the organisation’s successful journey toward accreditation by Joint Commission International.
For more than 25 years, Doctors Hospital has been a cornerstone of healthcare in the Cayman Islands, earning the trust of patients, families, and referring providers through a steadfast commitment to high-quality, compassionate care. Dr. McCrae’s leadership builds on this legacy, with a clear focus on continuously raising the standard of care for the community.
“Healthcare is changing rapidly, and the communities we serve deserve a leader who understands both the responsibility of that change and the opportunity within it. The Board has full confidence that Dr. McCrae is that leader. Her appointment signals our commitment to a future where Doctors Hospital continues to set the standard for exceptional, patient-centred care in the Cayman Islands and beyond.”— Dr. Yaron Rado, Chairman of the Board, Doctors Hospital
Reflecting on her appointment, Dr. McCrae shared, “It is a tremendous honor to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer of Doctors Hospital, an organization that I have been proud to serve for the past 13 years. Having grown within this organisation, I have seen firsthand the dedication of our teams and the profound impact our work has on the lives of patients and families every day. I am incredibly proud of the legacy that has been built over the past quarter century, and equally excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to strengthen and evolve our services for the community we serve.”
She continued, “My focus as CEO is simple: we will never take our foot off the gas when it comes to improving the care we deliver. In healthcare, what was good enough yesterday cannot be good enough for tomorrow. Our responsibility is to constantly raise the bar and continuously improve how we serve our patients, support our clinicians, and strengthen the care we provide to our community.”
Dr. McCrae emphasised that this commitment will be driven by a relentless focus on patient experience, clinical excellence, and thoughtful innovation. “Every interaction matters, from the first phone call to the care delivered at the bedside. We will continue working to ensure that patients and referring providers experience the highest levels of compassion, communication, and coordination.”
She added, “Clinical quality and patient safety will remain the bedrock of everything we do. The community places tremendous trust in Doctors Hospital, and we are committed to maintaining and advancing the highest standards of care.”
Looking ahead, Dr. McCrae highlighted the role of technology in shaping the future of healthcare delivery in the Cayman Islands. “By thoughtfully investing in modern medical technologies, digital tools, and advanced treatment capabilities, we can enhance outcomes and ensure our patients have access to leading-edge healthcare close to home.”
She also underscored the importance of people in delivering on this vision. “Doctors Hospital has been built by exceptional clinicians, healthcare professionals, and the wider team of support staff who make high-quality care possible every day. Our continued success depends on attracting and supporting outstanding talent across the organisation. At the same time, we are deeply committed to developing Caymanian healthcare professionals and support staff, creating opportunities for local talent to grow, lead, and shape the future of healthcare in the Cayman Islands.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this remarkable organisation and look forward to working with our team to build on our proud legacy while continuing to deliver outstanding care for the Cayman Islands community.”
