Dr. Richard Sebuwufu

Dr. Richard P. Sebuwufu is an experienced emergency medicine physician with a great interest and dedication to medical education. Having graduated from Leicester University, Dr. Sebuwufu has gained significant clinical experience accumulated across the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, notably in trauma units and major trauma centers. His comprehensive training has equipped him with the skills necessary to navigate critical care settings, making him a valuable asset in emergency medical and urgent care situations.

Since 2004, Dr. Sebuwufu has been actively involved in teaching the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) program, sharing his knowledge and clinical insights with healthcare professionals to enhance their skills in trauma care. His commitment to education extends to his time spent teaching anatomy at Leicester University for a year, where he played a crucial role in shaping the next generation of medical professionals.

Dr. Sebuwufu has held academic positions at Clare College and the University of Cambridge, serving as a clinical tutor, associate lecturer, and affiliated assistant professor. His multifaceted roles underscore his dedication to fostering academic excellence and innovation in medical education.

Beyond his medical career, Dr. Sebuwufu, a husband and father of 3 children, embraces a rich diversity of extracurricular activities. An avid ballroom and Latin dancer, he has competed nationally and taught dance both privately and through Cambridgeshire County Council night classes. His dedication to the arts extends to music; he is proficient in piano, cello, and guitar and has recently taken up the oud, a stringed instrument he discovered during his time in the UAE.

A passionate advocate for community engagement, Dr. Sebuwufu has worked with disadvantaged children in Leicester, helping them prepare for a performance for BBC Music Live in 2000. His commitment to social impact reflects his belief in the transformative power of the arts and education.
