Doctors Hospital Celebrates 25 Years by Empowering Future Caymanian Healthcare Leaders
Grand Cayman, September 23, 2025 – This year, Doctors Hospital (DH) marks 25 years of providing exceptional healthcare in the Cayman Islands. To celebrate this milestone, the hospital is proud to support the next generation of healthcare professionals through its 2025 Scholarship Programme. The scholarship this year has been awarded to Gianna McLaughlin and Keya Berry, both Caymanian students pursuing studies in the United States.
Keya Berry is enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy programme at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her ambition is to specialize in compounding pharmacy, combining science, patient care, and community impact.
Gianna McLaughlin, now in her third year of Nursing at the University of Tampa, has a strong passion for patient care and community service. As a second-year scholarship recipient, she spent summer 2025 interning at DH’s Medical-Surgical Nursing Unit, gaining hands-on experience that will help her become a Registered Nurse.
Mario Ebanks, Director of Human Resources, said: “Celebrating 25 years is a proud moment for us, and giving back to our community is an important part of that milestone. Supporting talented young Caymanians like Gianna and Keya ensures we’re investing in the future of healthcare locally and beyond.”
The Doctors Hospital Scholarship is part of DH’s long-standing commitment to nurture Caymanian talent in healthcare and allied professions, helping students gain the skills and experience needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
